ELLEN R HARDEN Design Nerd (and likes it) | Creative Director
It’s a long way from Eastman, GA, to Atlanta. No, not on a map. That’s a mere 146 miles.
Growing up in the little town that then had just one stoplight (right there at the corner of 5th and Oak), Ellen dreamed of going places. In 1999, she left Eastman and headed north.
She earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Atlanta. In Atlanta, Ellen fell in love with city-life – the hustle and bustle, the constant motion, the southern lights . . . but of course, she wasn’t done traveling. With degree in hand, she hit the road to the city that never sleeps - New York City (937 miles from Eastman, in case you’re wondering). There, she earned a Masters in Communication Design from the prestigious Pratt Institute.
Lucky for Ellen, she was able to return to her first love – the city that was big enough to give her inspiring work and small enough to be southern at heart. In Atlanta she has been charged with creating branding for many clients, including The St. Joe Company’s WindMark Beach and RiverTown, the NEA Foundation, Bread & Butter and Salus Valuation Group.
Her work has been noted and published in Logo Lounge which “selects works of quality, timeliness, and an inspirational nature.” She was also recognized as “design’s best and brightest” by Graphic Design USA for her work with The St. Joe Company’s WindMark Beach series.
When Ellen is not busy doing what she loves; designing, there’s a good chance she's traveling. Whether she’s catching a show on Broadway, burning the road to Eastman to help her nephews blow out a birthday candle, roaming the streets of Paris, soaking up some sun in the Caymans or listening to an up and coming country music star with friends in Nashville, she’s constantly engaging herself in towns both big and small, finding inspiration in city lights and on country roads.
So when it comes to finding the perfect look for your brand, you can count on Ellen.
She'll go the distance.
